Assisted Living Conversion Program (ALCP): Assisted living facilities (ALFs) are designed to accommodate frail elderly persons and people with disabilities who need certain support services (e.g., assistance with eating, bathing, grooming, dressing, and home management activities). ALFs must provide support services such as personal care, transportation, meals, housekeeping, and laundry.
Frail elderly person means an individual 62 years of age or older who is unable to perform at least three activities of daily living (ADLs) as defined by the regulations for HUD's Section 202 Program (Supportive Housing for the Elderly) at 24 CFR 891. 205. Assisted living is defined in section 232(b)(6) of the National Housing Act (12 U.S.C.
1715w).
