This will be the 9th annual Giving Tuesday and it is celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving in the United States. Astera Health wants to make a change this Giving Tuesday by raising funds for our cancer center. Be a part of something incredible and give to one of the most important projects in our community.

org/foundation to learn more about how you can donate. UPDATE: The Cancer Center So Far The Cancer Center is fully enclosed and ready for interior work. Astera Health staff broke ground on the new Astera Health/CentraCare Coborn Cancer Center in May 2024.
Construction has steadily progressed with the exterior of the structure enclosed and ready for work during the winter months. Interior work is fully underway with framing and sheetrock recently installed. The grand opening for the new facility is set for July 2025.
Introducing a cancer center to rural Minnesota has been a huge project with funding being one of the main obstacles. The Astera Health Foundation is on a mission to raise 2 million dollars for the new facility. This goal will be in place for several years and have a strong focus on patient programming and comfort.
In early November 2024, funds raised totaled $202, 570. The Cancer Center will bring hope and healing to the region, offering services that were previously unavailable in rural Minnesota. Key features include: On-site radiation therapy Access to top oncologists These advancements will make cancer treatment more accessible and significantly ease the burden for hundreds of patients and their families.
In addition, Foundation Lead Kim Beiswenger is developing a Food as Medicine Pantry to support the cancer center. This initiative will provide nutritious foods tailored to the dietary needs of cancer patients, many of whom require specialized diets due to treatment-related sensitivities. Fundraising for this pantry will be a central focus in the coming months.
