It helps the sector meet growing market demands for sustainably sourced, high-quality fish and seafood. The Atlantic Fisheries Fund is a cost-shared partnership between Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the Atlantic provinces.

The Atlantic Fisheries Fund focuses on 3 areas: innovation - developing new products and technologies in the harvesting, aquaculture and processing sectors infrastructure - using new technologies or processes to improve sustainability science partnerships - collaborating with universities and other research institutions to improve our knowledge and understanding The fund aims to help Nova Scotia's fish and seafood sector achieve greater success by supporting market entry and growth, economic development, and supporting coastal communities.
