Autism Diagnostic Assessment Scholarship is sponsored by KNOWAutism Foundation. The KNOWAutism Foundation provides financial assistance for diagnostic testing to financially disadvantaged families with children between 18 months and 18 years old in the Greater Houston area.

Apply for Assistance - KNOWAutism Foundation Scholarship Applications are accepted several times a year. The 2026 dates are as follows: The Autism Diagnostic Assistance Program accepts applications continuously on a rolling basis, and applicant families will receive notifications within eight (8) weeks of submitting their applications.

#1: January 15th thru June 30th – Special Interest Fund assistance applications will be accepted for 2026 summer camps, swim lessons, etc. Applications will be reviewed and families will be notified of the committee’s decision. #2: May 5 – June 30th Tuition & Therapy assistance applications will be accepted. Applications will be reviewed and families will be notified of the committee’s decision.

The KNOWAutism Foundation is delighted to provide financial support to families in the Greater Houston Area through three distinct scholarships: the Autism Diagnostic Assessment Scholarship, Tuition and Therapy Assistance Scholarship, and the Special Interest Fund Scholarship.

Eligibility Requirements: Scholarship Applicants must live in the Greater Houston area (in one of the following: Austin County, Brazoria County, Chambers County, Fort Bend County, Galveston County, Harris County, Liberty County, Montgomery County, and Waller County). There are no age restrictions for those applying for tuition and therapy assistance or for the special interest fund.

However, it is essential that all applicants have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder to be eligible. If the scholarship applicant is over the age of 18, proof of guardianship is required. For the Autism Diagnostic Assessment Assistance application, applicants must fall within the age range of 18 months to 18 years.

Please note: All applications must be completed entirely online and include all supporting documents, as outlined in the application, to be considered. PDF applications are no longer being accepted via email or postal mail. Applicants may submit one application every twelve (12) months.

Please visit our FAQ page for additional information about our scholarships. ➡️The Autism Diagnostic Assistance Program Application The Autism Diagnostic Assistance Program provides scholarships for diagnostic testing to financially disadvantaged families with children between the ages of 18 months and 18 years old.

We will provide financial assistance ranging from $500 – $1,500 per child to help pay for the cost of diagnostic testing for Autism Spectrum Disorder. Awards are one time only. The exact award amount is based on demonstrated financial need and available funds.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. ➡️The Tuition and Therapy Assistance Program Application The Tuition & Therapy Assistance Program offers scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $7,500 to help ease the financial burden of therapeutic treatments and intervention for autism. To be eligible, the individual must already have received a clinical diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

These awards may be used for behavioral intervention programs, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social skills groups, special needs schools, and/or special education programs. ➡️Special Interest Fund Application The Special Interest Fund was established to help individuals with autism access adaptive and inclusive programs and services that do not fall under the umbrella of traditional autism treatments or interventions.

Awards range from $500 to $2,000 per individual. Eligible programs include specialized camps, music therapy, art therapy, yoga therapy, therapeutic horseback riding, adaptive swim lessons, and similar programming. This fund may also be used to cover fees for the services of autism/disability advocates (up to $1,000).
