BBSRC-STFC Biotechnology Business Incubation Centre (Bio BIC) 2025 – UKRI Funding opportunity: BBSRC-STFC Biotechnology Business Incubation Centre (Bio BIC) 2025 Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) , Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) 15 July 2025 9:00am UK time 7 September 2025 11:59pm UK time The BBSRC-STFC Bio BIC is an incubator programme for early-stage biotechnology start-ups, providing access to the following UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) campuses: STFC Sci-Tech Daresbury campus Additional specialist support is available from The Pirbright Institute.

£50,000 of research and development (R&D) funding £10,000 innovation voucher for R&D activity technical, commercial and intellectual property support The BBSRC-STFC Bio BIC is open to UK-registered companies who are: majority-owned by founders and employees UK-registered companies must also have one or more of the following: received a BBSRC or other UKRI grant to support the research underpinning the product or service received an Innovate UK or other UKRI commercialisation support grant to take forward a bioscience innovation to address any market opportunity received accelerator or pre-incubation support from a UKRI partner organisation The research underpinning the products or services being carried forward by the company must be within BBSRC remit.

The research underpinning the products or services being carried forward by the research team must be within BBSRC remit. The technology must be either: interact with a biological entity involve a biological process address a biological challenge We will not accept applications based on medical or clinical devices and therapeutics being developed solely for a specific end-point clinical utility (including diagnostics).

uk ) if you are unsure whether your application fits the scope of the Bio BIC programme. Complete the Bio BIC expression of interest application form . Expressions of interest are limited to one per company.

The deadline to submit your expression of interest is 7 September 2025 at 11:59pm UK time. How we will assess your application All applications will go through a competitive selection process. Submissions will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
