Description — Applicants are automatically considered for both the George D. McCoy Scholarship and the Optum Infusion Pharmacy/Bleeding Disorders Foundation of North Carolina scholarship. Benefits — The award is a $1,000 scholarship.

Eligibility — Applicants must be diagnosed with hemophilia A. The 2026 program is closed. Check the scholarship page each year for updated dates and application instructions.

2. Beth Carew Memorial Scholarship Program Offered by The Colburn-Keenan Foundation, this program honors Beth Carew, who was diagnosed with hemophilia A. She died in 1994 of complications of hemophilia, and this hemophilia scholarship was created to keep her name alive.

Description — This scholarship is for undergraduate students with bleeding disorders who are active in their communities, following the example set by Carew. Benefits — The number of awards varies, and award amounts range from $500 to $6,000. Eligibility — Qualified applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents diagnosed with hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, or a related inherited bleeding disorder.

Applicants must also have unpaid community service that was not required for school credit. The 2026 program is closed. Applications for this scholarship open in January of every year for the following school year.

It’s named for Eric Delson, who pursued his goals despite living with a bleeding disorder. Description — The program includes private school awards and postsecondary awards. The postsecondary awards are for students pursuing a healthcare or medical focus.

Benefits — The current program includes two $1,500 private school scholarships and six $2,000 postsecondary scholarships. Eligibility — Applicants must be clinically diagnosed with hemophilia or von Willebrand disease. Postsecondary applicants must be accepted to or enrolled in a full-time undergraduate, graduate, or vocational-technical program in the United States.

The Kevin Child Scholarship Kevin Child was born with hemophilia and died of AIDS-related complications in 1989, a few days before his college graduation. His family wanted to honor him and acknowledge the ways that hemophilia can make getting a college degree hard, so they created this scholarship.

Description — Students must be pursuing or planning to pursue postsecondary education at a college, university, or vocational-technical school. Benefits — The scholarship provides one $1,000 award. Eligibility — Applicants must be diagnosed with hemophilia A or hemophilia B.

Description — This award can be used for tuition or qualified educational expenses within one academic year.

Benefits — The 2026-2027 award provides four recipients with $12,500 each. Eligibility — Applicants must be diagnosed with an inherited bleeding or inherited thrombotic disorder and be active patients at a hemophilia treatment center. The 2026 program is closed.

It’s aimed at helping children with hemophilia B learn, play, and enjoy music. Description — This scholarship is for young people with hemophilia B who already play music or want to begin. Benefits — The number and amount of scholarships vary, and funds may be used for instrument rentals or purchases, band and orchestra fees, music lessons, and band or performance camp.
