Beyond Scholars Scholarship Program is a grant from Beyond Type 1 that funds college education for students living with diabetes. The program has provided more than $2 million in scholarship money over the past decade. In 2025, it awarded ten $10,000 need-based scholarships to incoming college freshmen for the 2025-26 academic year, with recipients also receiving six months of wellness coaching.

Beyond Scholars is a scholarship program designed specifically for the diabetes community—because every student with diabetes deserves to pursue the life they want and have the resources to do so.
Beyond Scholars has provided students more than $2 million in scholarship money over the past decade as they pursue their educational dreams.
In 2025, the Beyond Scholars program will awarded: Ten, $10,000 need-based scholarships as we celebrate 10 years of Beyond Type 1 The scholarships were awarded to incoming college freshman during the 2025-26 academic year NEW: Scholarship recipients will receive 6 months of wellness coaching through our partners at Risely Health No Student Should Have to Choose Between Health and Education Living with Diabetes : The scholarship is open to students living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
Class of 2025: Students must have graduated high school in the Spring of 2025. US-based Education: The scholarship is available to students attending a 2-year, 4-year, or technical college located in the US or any US territories during the 2025-2026 academic year. US Citizenship: Applicants must be US citizens Need-Based : Beyond Type 1 will award scholarships based on financial need.
Since receiving a scholarship from Beyond Type 1, I have been pursuing my degree at USF in biomedical sciences, on the pre-medicine track to pursue pediatric endocrinology! Since receiving the scholarship, I have had so many amazing experiences. I traveled to Scotland and Ireland to study agricultural economics, and am starting my own research in the veterinary sciences field!

The GitLab Foundation's AI for Economic Opportunity Fund, run in partnership with OpenAI, awards demonstration grants to nonprofits using AI to measurably improve income growth and economic mobility for low-income populations worldwide. Selected organizations receive $250,000 in catalytic funding to prototype and demonstrate progress, six months of cohort-based technical support from OpenAI engineers and advisors, API credits, mentorship, and eligibility for scaling grants from partner philanthropies.
