Bible Translation, Literature, and Education Grants is sponsored by Tyndale House Foundation. The Tyndale House Foundation supports Christian publishing and literature-related projects internationally. They partner with organizations working to meet the spiritual needs of people through the publication of literature consistent with biblical principles.

Our Priorities – Tyndale Foundation Tyndale House Foundation funds a wide variety of projects in partnership with organizations that align with our mission and purpose and that deploy strategic and faith-based approaches to their mission. Our Primary Granting Areas Are: Because Tyndale House is a publishing enterprise, the Foundation places a special emphasis on international Christian publishing and literature-related projects.

We seek to partner with organizations working to meet the spiritual needs of people through the publication of literature consistent with biblical principles. We pursue this through four grant-making priorities: We believe the best way to resource the local church is through local publishers who publish local authors.

We support indigenous publishers to help create sustainable and flourishing Christian publishing industries around the world. This includes support for publishing networks, book and magazine publishers, printers and printing systems, and modernization of publishing methods.

We support the development of contextualized and relevant books and other printed and digital resources that will serve to edify the local church in areas where resources are few. We support efforts to make Scripture accessible, available, and understandable for all people everywhere in their heart language. We partner with organizations that distribute literature consistent with biblical principles to serve local populations.

We partner with formal Christian-educational institutions training Christian leaders and scholars around the world. Our partners integrate biblical principles within their curriculums to cultivate a Christian worldview at the primary, secondary, collegiate, graduate, and seminary levels.

We classify education into two areas: we classify education into two areas: Faith-integrated education for students at the primary, secondary, and collegiate levels. Formal graduate and seminary-level education of leaders from the Majority World in preparation for leadership within the global church. The Great Commission calls us to make disciples of all nations.

We believe our calling is to partner with organizations that shape believers’ understanding, attitude, and behavior toward Jesus Christ at each stage of their Christian journey. Our grantmaking emphasizes the following areas related to Discipleship: we classify discipleship into four areas: Taking the gospel to unreached places and to all people groups through mission work.

Cultivating the growth of leaders to become men and women who possess sincere and unshakable faith, who lead with biblical integrity, and who are effective ministers of the gospel. Interacting with God’s Word in community and learning how to apply it within local contexts and contemporary realities. Investing in the next generation to enable youth to become Christlike leaders who effect change in their homes, churches, and communities.

We partner with organizations that are working to develop local leaders, through non-formal education, to be effective in both their faith and vocation. Training takes place across multiple dimensions and serves leaders in various contexts, thereby strengthening the local church.

We focus on the following groups: Encouraging the development of local authors by teaching them the necessary skills to express their unique voice and to address culturally relevant issues from a biblical perspective. Fostering multiplicative growth of the church through indigenous-led movements that show spiritual depth, theological integrity, and vibrancy.

Engaging, equipping, and empowering ministry leaders in their unique callings to be catalysts of change and growth, both locally and globally. Ensuring pastors are properly equipped with biblical knowledge and maturity to preach faithfully and shepherd their congregations well. We seek to respond to the Bible’s repeated commands to care for the poor and the vulnerable.

We do this by partnering with organizations that work to alleviate physical distress and spiritual hopelessness. Within this area, we prioritize: Rescuing children from poverty and dangerous circumstances and helping them find redemption, restoration, and hope in Jesus Christ.

Restoring communities that have been broken by war and natural disasters as well as by poverty and conflict Providing care for refugees and addressing people’s physical and spiritual needs through times of extreme hardship. Bridging divides caused by conflict and war through training and creative outreach efforts. We want to be good neighbors and care for people in our own community.

To accomplish this, we partner with organizations in the Greater Chicago Metropolitan Area that work with vulnerable populations locally. Vulnerable groups include children and youth, immigrants and refugees, women and men who have escaped the sex trade, prisoners, people experiencing homelessness, and mothers facing unplanned pregnancies.

BECAUSE OF THE BROAD NATURE OF OUR GRANTING, WE CANNOT SHARE A COMPREHENSIVE LIST OF PROPOSALS THAT WOULD NOT RECEIVE FUNDING.

HOWEVER, THE FOLLOWING AREAS DO NOT FIT INTO OUR GRANTING STRATEGY: Building projects or land purchases Projects that are political in nature, including requests for lobbying U.S.-based projects outside of the Greater Chicago Area IF YOUR PROJECT FALLS INTO ONE OF THESE CATEGORIES, PLEASE ASSUME THAT IT WILL NOT BE A FIT WITH OUR GRANTING STRATEGY
