The European Defence Industry Programme (EDIP) is a EUR 1.5 billion two-year initiative adopted by the European Commission on 30 March 2026 to strengthen the European Union and Ukrainian defence industrial base. The programme allocates funding across six major pillars: production capacity (EUR 700M+ for counter-drones, missiles, ammunition); joint procurement (EUR 240M for counter-drone, air/missile defence, combat systems); European Defence Projects of Common Interest (EUR 325M); Ukraine Support Instrument (EUR 260M); Start-up/SME equity support via FAST (EUR 100M for defence supply chain transformation); and BraveTech EU Innovation (EUR 35.3M).
