Bishop Daily Vocations Scholarships

Bishop Daily Vocations Scholarships is sponsored by Knights of Columbus. These scholarships are awarded based on academic merit to men in the first four years of theology studying for the Catholic priesthood. The scholarship is for tuition, room and board and is renewable annually for up to four years.

Seminarian Scholarships | Knights of Columbus Each year, the Knights of Columbus offers a limited number of $2,500 scholarships for tuition, room and board to men studying for the Catholic priesthood at major seminaries. The Father Michael J. McGivney Vocations Scholarship, which is awarded based on financial need.

The Bishop Thomas V. Daily Vocations Scholarship, which is awarded based on academic merit. Any applicant with appropriate ecclesiastical approval, having been accepted at a major seminary, and studying for an (arch) diocese or religious institute in the United States, its territories, or Canada is eligible.

Special consideration may be given to upperclassmen who are members of the Knights of Columbus, or whose fathers are members, and/or those with a background in the military. The Father Michael J. McGivney Vocations Scholarship is awarded based on financial need.

To apply for this scholarship, the applicant must provide a statement detailing (1) his financial obligations (tuition, room and board, books, clothes, loans, etc.), (2) the (arch)diocese’s or religious institute’s obligations (tuition, room and board, etc.), and (3) any monies he receives from the (arch)diocese or religious institute to offset his expenses.

Once awarded, the scholarship is renewable each succeeding year up to a maximum of four years upon certification of continuing study/enrollment. The scholarship is not, however, available during any year of pastoral internship. Notification must be received of acceptance or continued enrollment.

Father Michael J. McGivney Vocations Scholarships Father Michael J. McGivney Vocations Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of need for the $2,500 per year, grants that cover tuition, room and board, preference being accorded to members or sons of members of the Order, for seminarians pursing a vocation to the priesthood.

Grants are renewable annually to a maximum of four years, upon evidence of continued eligibility. Bishop Thomas V. Daily Vocations Scholarships Delegates to the 115th Supreme Council Meeting established the Bishop Thomas V.

Daily Vocations Scholarship Fund in tribute to the Most Reverend Thomas V. Daily, Bishop of Brooklyn, who served as Supreme Chaplain of the Order from February 13, 1987 to April 2, 2005, with dedication, distinction and great pastoral care. Scholarships of $2,500 per year, provided by the fund, are awarded on the basis of merit and academic excellence to seminarians pursuing a vocation to the priesthood.

NOTE – In the selection process, a seminarian having submitted his transcript, is considered first for a Bishop Daily Vocations Scholarship. If he is not among those recommended for a Bishop Daily Vocations Scholarship, he may be considered for a Father McGivney Vocations Scholarship, in which case it behooves the applicant to also provide a financial statement in his application.

If due to the pandemic, the institution is not responsive to requests for this type of information, then please submit a financial statement as outlined below. Complete all required fields, upload your required documents, request all required supplements and click the “Submit” button to save your information. Return to your ISTS Home Page at https://aim. applyISTS.

net to monitor your application status. Your application status must update to Complete to be considered for the scholarship program. Note: Once you are successfully logged in, you will be automatically redirected to the application form.

The maximum scholarship is $2,500 per year, renewable each year of study at a “major” seminary to a total of four years, upon evidence of satisfactory performance, and subject to the discretion of the Department of Scholarships.
