Black Birth Equity Initiative is sponsored by Cedars-Sinai. Provides grants to nonprofits in Los Angeles working to improve prenatal and postpartum outcomes for Black families.

Cedars‑Sinai Grantmaking focuses on strengthening the capacity of local nonprofit partners in improving access to care, finding lasting solutions for people experiencing homelessness, and addressing health disparities for Los Angeles residents who have been socially and economically marginalized. _Please note: We are unable to accept unsolicited grant proposals.

_ ## Cedars-Sinai Grantmaking in Action ## Strategic Grant Programs and Initiatives Cedars‑Sinai Grantmaking centralizes all outbound philanthropy on behalf of Cedars‑Sinai. Grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations in Cedars‑Sinai’s Community Benefit Service Area that are working to strengthen the healthcare safety net and improve the wellbeing of the most vulnerable in our community.

Cedars‑Sinai Grantmaking strives to increase health equity through a series of programs, initiatives and partnerships, with a focus on community members who are underinsured, uninsured or uninsurable. The Access to Care portfolio aims to expand the capacity of the healthcare safety net to improve access to comprehensive, quality healthcare services.

This portfolio focuses on bolstering leadership and effectiveness within safety net clinics, increasing access to integrated health services, and addressing clinical and social factors impacting Black maternal and infant mortality and morbidity.

### Homelessness and Housing The Homelessness and Housing portfolio aims to increase the capacity of organizations to promote healthy environments in which people are born, grow, live, work and age. This portfolio focuses on the connections between healthcare and housing systems and works to prevent and end homelessness among older adults, youth and young adults in Los Angeles County.

The Community Response portfolio aims to increase the capacity of local partners responding to emerging areas of public concern, with a focus on both community well‑being and resilience. Community Response grants have historically included a focus on food equity, best practices in addressing adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), nonprofit sector strengthening, and rapid response for disaster relief and recovery.
