Their lifelong commitment to community service and volunteerism has impacted many lives. Since its inception, BLBB Charitable has granted over $10 million to the community.

Today, more than half of our employees serve in leadership roles in local nonprofits, and all employees volunteer in some capacity. BLBB Charitable supports initiatives that help people discover their full potential through education and leadership opportunities.

In keeping with our founder’s legacy, BLBB Charitable does more than make donations—we invest in nonprofit organizations whose creative approach and sound strategies yield meaningful and measurable outcomes for the people they serve. These grants leverage the philanthropic giving of BLBB employees. We also bring our grant partners together to leverage their distinct talents. Examples of recent impact grantees include: Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia (CSFP) is a privately funded program whose mission is to provide children from under-resourced Philadelphia families with financial access to quality, safe, K-8th grade, tuition-based schools.

Their mission helps increase long-term economic and social success. CSFP grants need-based, partial scholarships through a random lottery. Community Partnership School is an independently operating PAIS accredited school that provides a well-rounded, affordable education while fostering a supportive network among students, school, family, and community.

It was founded in 2006 through a partnership between Germantown Academy and Project HOME to serve children from underserved NC Philadelphia neighborhoods characterized by high rates of poverty and low rates of graduation. Gemma provides education, mental health services in residential and community settings, foster family care, adoption and permanency services, and prevention programs for thousands of individuals each year.

Germantown Academy is a non-sectarian, independent, coeducational college preparatory school educating students from PreK to Grade 12 in Fort Washington, PA. Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School, founded in 1861, is an independent Catholic college preparatory school that educates, inspires, and empowers young women to be merciful in spirit, innovative in thought, and courageous in leadership.

A tuition-free summer experience for K-8 children in North Philadelphia that strengthens students' academic skills and opportunities for the future. The Meadowbrook School is an independent co-ed day school with students from age 3 through 6th grade. The mission of Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education is to create opportunities for under-resourced youth of the Greater Philadelphia Region to prosper.

Their programs support the changing needs of students throughout their lives and target windows of opportunity for long-term impact. Founded in 2001, SquashSmarts is a free intensive out-of-school program changing the lives of Philadelphia’s public school students. SquashSmarts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit academic and athletic mentoring program with a proven track record of keeping kids in school, in shape, and on track for graduation.

ACHIEVEability is a nonprofit working in West Philadelphia to permanently break the generational cycle of poverty for low-income, single parent, and homeless families through higher education, affordable housing, supportive services, community and economic development, and accountability. The mission of Bucks County Opportunity Council (BCOC) is to reduce poverty and partner with our community to promote self-sufficiency.

BCOC is the leading anti-poverty nonprofit organization in Bucks County, PA. Clarifi is the Delaware Valley’s largest provider of financial and housing empowerment services for low- and moderate-income residents of Southeastern PA, NJ, and DE. Through its certified financial counseling, housing success, and direct assistance services, Clarifi helps its clients overcome financial crises and build intergenerational wealth.

Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve increases the knowledge and use of native plants by serving as an educational resource and destination that inspires conservation action. The 134-acre Preserve hosts a documented living native plant collection that features over 700 of Pennsylvania’s 2,000 native plant species growing in situ (“in place”) within a matrix of sustainable, recognized plant communities.

The mission of the Trust and its members is to protect, restore, and preserve the lands of the Pennypack Creek Valley. For over 60 years, Wissahickon Trails has worked to engage diverse communities to protect, steward, and enjoy the land and waterways of the Wissahickon Valley. Their partnerships with neighbors, activists, and local governments are essential to their work.

Together, we can use preservation and scientific innovation to strengthen our local ecosystems. Williamson College of the Trades prepares deserving young men to become respected leaders and productive members of society. Over the course of three years students receive a broad education that includes the study of trade and technical theory in the classroom and realistic work projects.
