Board of Regents Support Fund (BoRSF) Research & Development Programs is sponsored by Louisiana Board of Regents. The BoRSF Research & Development programs offer competitive grants to improve educational quality, foster research faculty and infrastructure, and contribute to Louisiana's economic development. Specific programs include RCS, RCS One-Year, ITRS, and P-o-C/P.

2025-2026 FY Board of Regents Support Fund | University Research BoRSF proposal season is upon us, and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) is here to help! This page is provided to aid in proposal development and support, and we hope you find it useful. We are always happy to assist; however, please note that ORSP resources are in high demand during this time.

Therefore, to make best use of ORSP services and to avoid spending time gathering basic knowledge or recapping published information, investigators are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with relevant BoRSF RFPs and the materials published here. Informational Sessions by BoR BoR staff are planning to host two types of online informational sessions: a general information webinar in late August via Zoom and virtual sessions with individual program managers will be available to potential applicants in September. Internal Workshop by ORSP ORSP held internal Board of Regents Support Fund (BoRSF) informational sessions for faculty. The slides are now available. The recorded presentation is forthcoming.

As previously shared, BoR announced major changes to this year’s competitive grant programs due to the passage of Act 222, which repeals the Kevin P. Reilly Louisiana Education Quality Trust Fund and its subfunds, including BoRSF— pending a statewide public vote on April 18, 2026.

Requests for proposals (RFPs) and submission deadlines for FY 2025-2026 are now available for the following competitive grant programs/subprograms: Research Competitiveness Subprogram (RCS) – Major Changes This Cycle Key updates to the RCS include: • One-year award period: June 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027 • Expanded eligibility: Open to faculty at any rank who face identifiable barriers to securing federal or other external research funding • Research equipment: Fully allowable as a budget item; institutional match requirement removed • Increased budget limits: Reflects shorter award period and inclusion of higher-cost equipment Interested faculty should review the complete RFP, which is available on the Board of Regents website.

LOGAN - BoR's Louisiana Online Grant Automation Network Access to the BoR’s submission system, LOGAN, is available at this link. New users will need to create a PI account in advance of posted deadlines. Previous users may need to reset their password via the LOGAN website if unable to login.

Technical issues with LOGAN must be directed to LOGAN Support, via this link. ORSP is not able to assist users with technical support for LOGAN. BoRSF Eligible Disciplines Many BoRSF programs have rotating disciplines that are eligible to submit each funding cycle.

BoRSF's chart of eligible disciplines can be accessed via this link. These disciplines can be found within the RFP. Additionally, eligible disciplines can be found within the program specific Fact Sheet below.

NOTE: Due to BoRSF certification requirements, proposal submissions that fall outside of the listed FY 2025-2026 eligible disciples list will not be submitted to BoR by ORSP. Faculty may self-enroll in this Moodle page to gain access.

Narrative, Budget & BoRSF Form Templates Please feel free to use the narrative templates (Word) below as a guide for responding to BoRSF RFPs. However, as these templates only address the narrative portion of the overall submission, they should not be used as a substitution for reading and responding to the RFP in full. Also provided below are budget calculation templates (EXCEL) and budget justification templates (Word).

Please use these templates for your FY 2025-2026 submissions, as the appropriate fringe and tuition rates, etc. have been included in these templates. Do not use the federal funding templates found elsewhere on the ORSP website for BoRSF submissions.

Detailed Review Timelines RCS Year Review Timeline : September 2nd – NOI uploaded by PI to LOGAN & released to ORSP September 24th – PI docs to ORSP for 1st review by 9 a. m. October 1st – Last day to ask questions about the RFP to BoR, see RFP October 1st – PI docs to ORSP for 2nd review by 9 a.

m. October 8th – PI docs to ORSP for routing by 9 a. m.

All documents must be FINAL! October 13th – Proposals submitted to BoR by ORSP General Routing Requirements Friendly Routing Reminders! Proposals must be submitted to ORSP no later than the posted internal deadlines to allow for adequate time for review, revisions, and approvals prior to the BoRSF deadlines.

ORSP cannot guarantee that proposals submitted after the internal deadline dates will be reviewed or submitted. "Checking In Proposals" to ORSP Full proposals routed to ORSP must also include: Completed and signed Internal Proposal Approval Form (IPAF), aka the Routing Form. Found here .
