Book Publishing Assistance Fund | Dean's Office College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Book Publishing Assistance Fund Faculty in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences who require supplemental funds to publish a book may apply to this fund for a grant of up to $1,500 to support the following costs associated with book publication: Images: cost of reproduction or permission from rights-holders Subventions: when a press requires a subvention in order to publish your book External reader: if you want to pay an expert reader in your field to read your manuscript prior to submitting to a press.
The fund cannot be used to pay for indexing, marketing, or publicity. Funds are available on a rolling basis and until the fund is exhausted. Please submit an application to Associate Dean Tara Welch (tswelch@ku.
edu) . The application should include a brief synopsis of the book and its relation to your research agenda; a description of the financial need; proof, if applicable, of the charges to be covered. Successful applicants will demonstrate how the financial assistance is necessary to the book’s publication.
