More than 96 percent of wheelchair users do not have access to a private WAV. This lack of mobility limits their freedom to live fully, travel, attend school, or seek employment. Our mission is to change that statistic—and change the lives of many individuals with disabilities—by providing greater access to WAVs.

Awards Across North America Start by Finding a NMEDA Dealer Your first step to applying for a grant is finding and visiting a National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) dealer. Your dealer will work closely with you to perform a Needs Analysis and determine any gaps in financing your wheelchair accessible vehicle.
If there is a gap in funding for your vehicle, your NMEDA dealer will submit a grant application on your behalf. The grant committee will review and make recommendations to the board. The board will review, approve, and award up to $5,000 grants on a quarterly basis.
The Board will notify your NMEDA dealer of the status of your grant, and your dealer will communicate directly with you.
