Texas Broadband Pole Replacement Program is a grant from the Texas Broadband Development Office that funds reimbursements to eligible applicants to replace utility poles and accelerate broadband deployment to rural, unserved Texans. Established by House Bill 1505 (87th Legislature), the program is backed by $75 million in voter-approved state revenue dedicated to the Broadband Pole Replacement Fund under Proposition 8 (November 2023). Reimbursements cover up to 50% of eligible costs or $5,000 per pole, whichever is less. The BDO awarded $18.5 million in the first round and accepted a second round of applications in 2025. Eligible participants are broadband providers deploying infrastructure in rural unserved areas of Texas.
Broadband Infrastructure Fund (BIF) (Texas) is sponsored by Texas Broadband Development Office (BDO). The BIF was created to improve broadband access and services in Texas. It funds 9-1-1 services and upgrades, supports the Texas Broadband Pole Replacement Program, and provides matching funds for the federal Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program.
