Broadcom Foundation Highlight Reel Broadcom Foundation Goals Broadcom Foundation-sponsored programs promote digital and AI literacy to increase workforce development by inspiring and empowering youth to become scientists, engineers, and innovators. The Foundation's STEM programs create volunteer opportunities for Broadcom employees where they live and work.
Access to broadband internet opens doors to youth in urban, rural, and tribal communities to learn basic coding and AI, which are needed to compete for "highly skilled jobs in emerging industries built on technologies of the future." Broadcom Foundation promotes free online tools for after-school Code Clubs, where optimal project-based learning time enables children in grades 5-8 to develop basic coding and AI skills.
Through foundation-sponsored science fairs, Broadcom Foundation encourages civic awareness in STEM through Broadcom Coding with Commitment® , which inspires middle schoolers to use coding and AI skills to solve community problems they care about. The Foundation's science fair sponsorships align with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and create volunteer opportunities for Broadcom Inc. employees around the world.
Inspiring Digital Literacy Through Basic Coding Broadcom Coding with Commitment® Broadcom Foundation advocates basic coding and AI literacy as 21st Century+ skills to solve community problems that students care about that align with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, so they become digitally literate citizens who "think globally and act locally."
Broadcom Foundation funds programs that increase digital and AI literacy to provide young people with the foundational skills they need for STEM education and workforce readiness. Sridtya and Camilla, Broadcom Coding with Commitment ® winners from a Title I school in Massachussets, taught themselves to code and used a Raspberry Pi and AI technology to develop a smart traffic light system that can help identify missing persons.
This project supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #11: making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. Broadcom Foundation is partnering with the Raspberry Pi Foundation to develop Experience AI protocols for the US and around the world and sponsors Experience AI and the AI Challenge at Penang Science Cluster (PSC) in Malaysia.
Raspberry Pi Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs are designed and vetted to promote digital and AI literacy.
Broadcom Foundation digital and AI literacy outreach programs in Code Clubs, Coolest Projects Global, sponsored science fairs, and allied programs including the National STEM Festival and Congressional App Challenge provide Broadcom Inc. engineers and staff opportunities to volunteer as role models, mentors, and judges in communities where they live and work.
Broadcom Coding with Commitment® At Broadcom Foundation-sponsored science fairs, Broadcom Coding with Commitment® encourages young people to use coding skills and AI to solve community problems they care about that align with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. Coolest Projects is an online showcase where young people up to 18 years of age can share their ideas through technology.
Whether it’s big, small, weird, wonderful, a work-in-progress, or a world-beating idea, Coolest Projects gives them the opportunity to show their project among an incredible community of makers. Broadcom Foundation teams up with the Raspberry Pi Foundation to promote afterschool Code Clubs, where children in grades 5-8 have optimal project-based learning time to develop the basic coding and AI skills needed in the future workforce.
Congressional App Challenge Broadcom Foundation sponsors the Congressional App Challenge where members of the U.S. House Representatives select a middle or high school student or student team to represent their district in the Nation's Capital. The Foundation participates in #HOUSEOFCODE to inspire students to continue with coding and AI in a variety of platforms and uses for social good.
There are no limits on application, themes, or topics! Wiki Education Outreach Program Broadcom Foundation teams up with WikiEdu. org to educate college students on research and writing techniques with the precision needed to enter a biography in Wikipedia.
Classes at colleges, including HBCUs, HSIs and Tribal Colleges research and write biographies about unsung STEM pioneers who belong in the Wikipedia site as role models "who look like me."
