Brother Benno Foundation Rental Assistance is sponsored by Brother Benno Foundation. Provides rental assistance to residents of North County San Diego facing housing instability.

Support Services & Aid - Brother Benno Foundation - Serving Unsheltered and Poor in North County San Diego Supportive Services are available: Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM (Walk In) 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM (By Appointment Only) (Center Services are closed on federal holidays.)

Supportive Services staff and volunteers meet with homeless, housing-insecure, and extremely low-income persons to assist them with qualifying for shelter options, applying for financial aid from government and non-profit organizations, enrolling in substance abuse recovery programs, obtaining medical and mental health care, preventing eviction and/or loss of utilities, entering domestic abuse protective programs and receiving other social services (subject to available funds).

Our team combines efforts with partners from government agencies and other non-profit organizations. These include the Veterans Administration and San Diego County’s Department of Homeless Solutions & Equitable Communities (HSEC) homeless services team. The HSEC homeless services team includes case managers, licensed clinical social workers, and benefits specialists.

Community partners and nonprofits include TrueCare Mobile Health Services, Serene Health, and Interfaith Community Services. Specific Services Offered Our Housing Navigation services help individuals currently experiencing homelessness connect to housing resources through Clarity (San Diego County’s Homeless Management Information System) and the Coordinated Entry System (CES).

These tools are used in partnership with the County Office of Homeless Solutions, the Regional Task Force on Homelessness, and agencies across the San Diego Continuum of Care. Guests who meet HUD’s definition of homelessness may be entered into Clarity, where their needs are assessed and matched with available housing programs as resources allow.

Subject to available funds , Brother Benno’s offers limited emergency rental assistance to extremely low-income residents at risk of eviction. Support is available for individuals and families living in the following North San Diego County communities: Encinitas, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, Escondido, Fallbrook/Bonsall, and Ramona .

Collect the required documents - DOCUMENTS LIST 3. Participate in a Preliminary Screening - WHERE and WHEN Note: Rental assistance typically begins on the 3rd of each month and ends as soon as funds are exhausted. Subject to available funds , Brother Benno’s offers limited emergency utility assistance to extremely low-income residents at utility shutoff.

Support is available for individuals and families living in the following North San Diego County communities: Encinitas, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, Escondido, Fallbrook/Bonsall, and Ramona. For utility assistance , bring a hard copy of your current utility bill and proof of income. Your name must be on the bill.

Up to $200 in assistance, subject to available funds. Medical services are available Mondays and Fridays by appointment. Dental services are available on Wednesdays by appointment. Appointments can be made beginning at 8:00 AM the day medical or dental assistance is needed at the Intake Office.

Appointments must be made in person. Identification Replacement Brother Benno's staff will help with replacing personal papers such as marriage certificates and social security cards.

Brother Benno staff can assist with getting Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) and North County Transit System (NCTS) passes for passes for : Medicare recipients (not MediCal) People with disabilities who qualify for a reduced fare under federal and state law Youth ages 6-18 (school ID, transit identification, or government-issued photo ID required), under the Youth Opportunity Pass pilot program We also assist with transportation relocation of people back to their families.

Vaccination & Booster Shots Vaccinations and booster shots (e.g., COVID and flu vaccinations/booster shots) are periodically scheduled at the Center. VACCINATION/BOOSTER SCHEDULE Currently, we have no vaccinations or boosters scheduled.
