Funding is designed for structural upgrades and interior build-outs that remain with the building, helping attract and sustain long-term business activity. Grants are awarded as matching funds, with higher incentives available for more significant private investment. This program plays a key role in revitalizing properties and strengthening the long-term viability of downtown Seymour.

1:1 matching grant up to $20,000 ($20K grant / $20K match) 2:1 matching grant up to $50,000 ($50K grant / $100K match) Maximum benefits apply per 24-month period Excludes other programs (Down Payment Assistance, Rental Purchase Assistance, Low Interest Loan) Funds must be tied to improvements that remain with the building Projects must be completed within 6 months Ownership or operation must continue for 24 months Note: Not all applicants will qualify.

Masonry and mortar repair Window, door, and transom repair/replacement Interior and exterior painting ADA upgrades (excluding elevators) Replacement of architectural details Cost estimates and invoices Certificate of Appropriateness (if applicable) Architectural drawings (if applicable) Historic documentation (if applicable) More detailed applications improve chances of approval.

Strongly Encouraged for Applicants Develop a business plan (Indiana Small Business Development Center recommended) Provide financials, including proof of investment Participate in training/workshops (marketing, HR, finance, etc.) Provide landlord proof of ownership Maintain consistent business hours Participate in Main Street events Property must be located within the Main Street District Application must be complete and submitted prior to project start Applicant must comply with all local and state regulations All projects must receive approval before work begins Note: Grants are distributed after project completion.

Projects are prioritized based on their ability to: Preserve historic or at-risk buildings Improve vacant or deteriorating properties Enhance aesthetics and downtown appeal Support business growth and job creation Leverage additional investment Funding is limited, and not all projects will be approved. Repayment may be required within 24 months if: Property is sold or transferred. Business ceases operations.

False or misleading information is provided. Applicant becomes insolvent. 12 equal monthly payments.

Full repayment is required in cases of misrepresentation. If no violations occur within 24 months, the grant is forgiven. A mortgage may be required as security (not required for leaseholders).
