Building the Future Vocational Scholarship Application Applications will be Accepted August 1st, 2026 The Building the Future Vocational Scholarship supports scholarships for Lake County residents to attend a public or private institution to earn a certificate or vocational/trade school degree with the intent to gain local employment .

Cosmetology/Esthetician/Barbering Healthcare (Medical, Dental & Emergency Services) This scholarship DOES NOT cover: Costs already covered by other aid Legacy Foundation PAYS awards directly to SCHOOLS, NOT students. Payments will be: • Paid to the school to cover OUTSTANDING tuition costs after all other aid is used (Work One, Pell grant, etc.) AND/OR • Paid towards costs for required books and/or equipment for the program.

*Legacy requires that students submit a billing statement (for tuition and/or equipment) from the school before awards are paid.

(CLOSED) Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Each Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship provides for full tuition, required fees and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and required equipment for four years of undergraduate study on a full-time basis leading to a baccalaureate degree at any eligible Indiana public or private nonprofit college or university.

Applications will reopen July of 2026 (CLOSED) Peter V. Westhaysen Medical Education Scholarship Applications will be Accepter from April 1st- June 1st. Scholarships are available for post-secondary, graduate and post-graduate students pursuing a degree to become a physician at an accredited university.

The purpose of the scholarship is to assist the student with the costs of tuition, fees, and books. The Advisory Committee consider two basic criteria: academic achievement and financial need. • Must be a permanent resident of the Lake County, Indiana.

• Must show outstanding scholastic ability. • Demonstrate financial need. • Enrolled in full-time post graduate program for training as a medical doctor.

(CLOSED) Glenn D. Peters Law School Scholarship Applications will be Accepted April 1st- June 1st. The Glenn D.

Peters Law School Scholarship is awarded to students who will be enrolled in law school for the upcoming Fall semester. Scholarships are available for tuition costs at an accredited law school located anywhere in the United States of America. While financial need can be a factor, greater weight is assigned to academic achievement and involvement in quality extracurricular activities.

Must be a permanent resident of the Northern District of Indiana for the United States District Court (roughly the northern third of Indiana). Our application process is designed to make it easier and less time consuming for students to apply for the scholarships available through the universal online application. Eligible students may be awarded a scholarship from one or more different funds. All applications must be completed and submitted through the online scholarship system found on the Foundation website.
