Evergy customers with a commercial rate code in Kansas and Missouri are eligible to participate in the Business Energy Savings Program, unless they have opted out (Missouri only). That includes businesses, schools, churches, and nonprofit organizations. If you are unsure of eligibility, please contact our team to confirm.

What kinds of projects qualify for incentives? The Business Energy Savings Program offers incentives for a wide range of energy-saving upgrades, including HVAC systems, lighting (KS only), refrigeration, controls, compressed air systems, and other equipment improvements. Additionally, if your equipment does not fall within a specific category and energy savings is quantifiable, we can likely pursue an incentive on the custom program.

How does the incentive process work? Depending on the project type, businesses may apply for standard incentives that don't require pre-approval, or work with Evergy on a custom incentive project. Custom projects require pre-approval before purchasing or installing equipment and must pass program qualification tests to be eligible.

Once the project is completed and verified, incentive payments are processed. How much can my business receive in incentives? Incentive amounts vary based on the type of equipment installed, projected energy savings, and overall project scope.
