CA BIPOC Farmer & Land Steward Relief Fund Farmer & Land Steward Relief Fund The California BIPOC Farmer and Land Steward Relief Fund was created to provide financial support for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color farmers and land stewards impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and CA wildfires.

The fund is managed by an eight-person collaborative of people of color representing the following organizations: Agriculture and Land-Based Training Association , The Butterfly Movement , CA Tribal Fund/First Nations Development Institute , Kitchen Table Advisors , Mandela Partners , Orikaika Ventures , and Minnow .

To date, the Fund has disbursed $850,000 in relief funds through two rounds of direct grants to farmers and land stewards. The Fund recently received funding through the California Underserved and Small Producers Program and will be facilitating a 3rd round of direct assistance to small and mid-scale and socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers affected by Covid-19.

Eligibility / Elegibilidad Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color led farms and food-growing projects (including individuals, nonprofits, tribes, businesses). Businesses must be majority BIPOC owned. Nonprofits must be majority BIPOC staff and majority BIPOC board.
