Hydrogen | California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development Over 950 fuel cell electric vehicles funded 50 available hydrogen refueling stations 100% clean energy commitment by 2045 California’s Hydrogen Goals California is a national leader in the clean energy transition, and hydrogen is no exception.
With the country’s largest fuel cell market and a growing portfolio of hydrogen production and research projects, the state is uniquely positioned to lead the U.S. hydrogen economy.
The Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) drives this growth through the California Hydrogen Market Development Strategy and the Hydrogen Station Permitting Guidebook, helping businesses and communities navigate the hydrogen landscape. Hydrogen companies can turn to GO-Biz for support with permitting, accessing state funding, and complimentary site selection services to bring projects to market.
Hydrogen Permitting and Readiness GO-Biz offers a suite of hydrogen permitting resources to help developers and local agencies navigate the permitting process with clarity and efficiency. The review period for the Draft Hydrogen Permitting Guidebook is open until April 1. Please submit your feedback via email to hydrogen@gobiz.
