California Opportunity Youth Apprenticeship (COYA) Grant is sponsored by California Workforce Development Board.
The California Opportunity Youth Apprenticeship (COYA) Grant aims to increase the participation of opportunity youth (ages 16-24 who are at risk of disconnection from education or employment, unhoused, involved in justice systems, or facing barriers to labor market participation) in pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs.
It also seeks to demonstrate the impact of apprenticeship on employment and earnings outcomes for this population. Round 4 of the Youth Community Access Grant Program, also funded through this initiative, will support projects providing California youth from low-income and disadvantaged communities with access to natural and cultural resources, and offering educational programming and workforce development opportunities.
