Tribal Research Grant Program Tribal Research Grant Program Round 2 of the Tribal Research Grant Program is now open. This solicitation provides funding for tribes, tribal organizations, and tribal-serving non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to conduct tribally led climate change research, assessments, and similar projects deemed a priority by the applying tribe.
There is $1,767,315 available for grants under Round 2 of this solicitation. There was $3,625,000 available for grants in total under this program, and $1,857,685 was awarded in Round 1. Program staff will hold a Pre-Application Workshop on May 16, 2024, and Office Hours on May 29, 2024, and May 30, 2024.
We are accepting submissions through July 31, 2024 at 5:00 p. m. Pacific Time.

This effort is supported by a collaborative multi-agency team to leverage existing expertise and roles across state agencies, including the Governor's Office of Planning and Research, California Natural Resources Agency, California Energy Commission, and California Strategic Growth Council.
Funding through the Tribal Research Grant Program is available to support tribally led projects focused on climate research, Indigenous Knowledges, and similar projects deemed a priority by California tribes. Additional program information can be found in the links and resources below.
