California Schools Healthy Air, Plumbing, and Efficiency Program - CalSHAPE | California Energy Commission California Schools Healthy Air, Plumbing, and Efficiency Program - CalSHAPE The California Schools Healthy Air, Plumbing, and Efficiency Program (CalSHAPE) provides funding to upgrade heating, air conditioning, and ventilation (HVAC) systems in public schools and replaces noncompliant plumbing fixtures and appliances that fail to meet water efficiency standards.
Pursuant to Chapter 4, Section D of the California Schools Healthy Air, Plumbing, and Efficiency (CalSHAPE) Plumbing Program Guidelines, the CalSHAPE Plumbing Program is now closed. Ventilation Reconciliation Reporting and Expiration Updates Reconciliation Reports: Grantees are now able to submit the required Reconciliation Report at the same time as the Assessment Report.
Expiration Requirements: Grantees are required to submit both the Assessment Report and the Reconciliation Report by the grant term end date for ventilation grants. Grantees must submit the Workforce Attestation & Verification form during assessment submission, for each individual who performed work on the assessment. The form is available for download under the "Templates" section of the CalSHAPE Ventilation Program menu.

The California Energy Commission was authorized by Assembly Bill (AB) 841 (Chapter 372, Statutes of 2020) to design, administer, and implement the California Schools Healthy Air, Plumbing, and Efficiency Program (CalSHAPE).
CalSHAPE includes two grant programs, CalSHAPE Plumbing and CalSHAPE Ventilation, for eligible parties within the service territories of the large electric and natural gas utilities in California.
