With a total funding pool of USD 100,000, individual projects are eligible for awards of up to USD 20,000 to support scientific and entrepreneurial breakthroughs in the multilingual sphere.
The program prioritizes five strategic areas of inquiry designed to bridge the gap between human communication and technological advancement: Language Economics: Exploring the economic benefits of multilingualism, new trade models, and investment planning in international environments; Language Data: Investigating how to collect, organize, and optimize high-quality data to improve the performance of machine learning algorithms; Human-Computer Interaction: Designing seamless interfaces and equitable incentives that foster a symbiotic relationship between professional translators and AI; Neuroscience of Language: Conducting psychological and neurological experiments to understand how the brain learns languages and how humans build trust in translations; Machine Learning Algorithms: Developing the next generation of AI to enhance the speed, quality, and context awareness of automated translation technology.
