Call for proposals to support doctoral candidates in developing innovative AI systems for scientific advancement - EU Funding Call for proposals to fund doctoral candidates and Doctoral Networks dedicated to developing or significantly advancing innovative AI systems, models, tools, or methodologies within specific scientific domains.
Successful applicants will be integrated into RAISE (Resource for AI Science in Europe), becoming active participants in its collaborative research community. Rather than focusing strictly on core computer science or using existing AI software for standard data processing, projects must demonstrate a direct dependence on novel AI algorithms to drive advanced scientific inquiry and push the boundaries of the chosen discipline.
A total funding pool of EUR 30,000,000 is available for this initiative. Expected Outcomes For Doctoral Candidates: Participants will receive specialized doctoral-level training on AI in science. The program aims to equip researchers with advanced transferable skills, expand their professional networks, and enhance their employability both within and outside of academia.
For Participating Organizations: The call aims to improve the quality and sustainability of doctoral training programs, enhance cross-sectoral knowledge transfer, increase research and innovation capacity, and accelerate the uptake of AI technologies across diverse scientific disciplines.
