The TELUS Friendly Future Foundation® is an independent registered charity dedicated to funding health and education focused charitable programs for youth in communities across Canada through Community Boards.

Canadian Community Boards Canadian registered charities and qualified donees are invited to apply for grants that support local, grassroots community-based health and education programs that help youth reach their full potential.

For Community Boards located outside Canada, please visit TELUS Community Grants and Funding A Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) registered charity or qualified donee, as defined by the Canada Revenue Agency Qualifying organizations can reapply to the same TELUS Community Board once every 12 months from the date their last application was submitted (regardless of approval or decline), and provided they meet all other eligibility criteria.

Support youth up to age 29 in Canada experiencing obstacles to reaching their full potential Focus on health or education Be delivered in one of the following regions (Click the Community Board region below to see a map of locations included). which includes: PEI, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador.

- Ontario: Ottawa and Eastern Ontario , Greater Toronto and Hamilton , Barrie and Central Ontario - Manitoba and Saskatchewan - Alberta: Calgary and Southern Alberta , Edmonton and Northern Alberta - British Columbia: Interior and Northern BC Canadian registered charities and qualified donees, as defined by the Canada Revenue Agency, can apply for single-year grants of up to $20,000.

The only exception is the TELUS Barrie and Central Ontario Community Board, which provides grants of up to $10,000. Preference is given to programs that best demonstrate how using specialised equipment or technology can increase the effectiveness of their program to make positive impacts on communities.

Examples include: Artificial Intelligence/AI Creating or enhancing sensory-friendly environments Land based and environmental learning Improving digital capabilities Important note: Software products like Microsoft Office, Zoom and Google Suite, along with smartphones and tablets, do not qualify as technology in this context.

Applying to Canadian Community Boards Applicants can apply to any TELUS Canadian Community Board as long as the program is operating within and directly impacts youth in that Community Board’s region A separate application must be completed for each Community Board region.

Ineligible funding requests Fiduciary intermediary relationships, where a non-profit organization leverages the charitable status of another registered charity Community-based programs of religious organizations unable to show non-denominational participation Charitable organization‌ operating costs, including non-program specific salaries, operating overhead and utilities The purchase of TELUS, TELUS Health and TELUS Agriculture and Consumer Goods products and services or requests enabling the purchase of products that TELUS and its associated companies sells, including the following: Mobile/cell phones, data and internet plans Smart watches and accessories Security services and security systems Electronic medical records Capital campaigns, capital expenditures, endowments or debt reduction campaigns Sponsorships, advertising and retroactive funding Scholarships and bursaries Ongoing funding eligibility We allow registered charities and qualified donees to apply for annual Community Board grant funding for up to three years in a row.

All applicants, whether approved or declined, must wait at least 12 months from the date of their last application before re-submitting an application for funding, either for the same or a different program. These grants helped address some of the most pressing issues facing youth in Canada. As we shift our focus to supporting students facing financial barriers with their pursuit of post-secondary education, we are proud to announce that from 2022 to 2024, we awarded over $4. 2 million in Innovation Grants to 26 youth-focused charities across the country.
