Capacity Fund — United Way of Central Indiana Supporting and strengthening nonprofits. United Way of Central Indiana’s (UWCI’s) Capacity Fund supports partners developing their organizational capacity by funding efforts to strengthen internal systems, operations, and resiliency. This fund enables UWCI to provide up to $50,000 to organizations in response to a clearly stated and well-supported business case.
Participation in this fund is limited to accredited partners of United Way of Central Indiana. The 2025–2026 cycle of the Capacity Fund is currently limited to organizations participating in the Provisional Accreditation process. If any funds remain upon the completion of the process, we will reassess funding priorities and eligibility criteria in early 2026.
Fund Development: Efforts aimed at diversifying and/or enhancing an organization’s streams of revenue to ensure fiscal sustainability and resiliency. Evaluation and Data: Efforts aimed at developing an organization’s capacity to effectively measure and communicate the outcomes and impact of their work.
Leadership, Talent, and Culture: Efforts aimed at developing leadership and enhancing core competencies at all levels, fostering succession planning, and/or promoting diversity, equity, inclusion to ensure alignment with organizational values. Funding new and/or additional staff without a clear plan of sustainability following the grant will not be considered. Have questions?
