Career Pathways Training Program Info Session - New York City Employment and Training Coalition Did you know that New Yorkers can earn a Master of Social Work or Licensed Mental Health Counselor degree at no cost? The 1115 NY Health Equity Reform Waiver has created a rare and unique opportunity for motivated individuals to earn their degree on full scholarship and enter the workforce as social workers and mental health counselors.

Graduate scholarships are open to all eligible New York State residents. While this opportunity is managed by the 1199SEIU Training and Employment Funds, you do not need to be a member of the 1199SEIU union to participate.
However, applicants must: —Already have a bachelor’s degree —Be willing to go to school full-time starting in fall of 2025 —Complete school by the spring semester of 2027 —Commit to working at a Medicaid-enrolled provider in NYS that serves at least a 30% Medicaid and/or uninsured population for 3 years after graduation. NCI Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) Academic Career Excellence (ACE) Award (K32) is a grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) that funds early postdoctoral fellows from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented groups, to pursue research training in cancer-related fields.
