Caregiver Grant Program is sponsored by Childhood Tracheostomy Alliance. The Caregiver Grant program provides supplemental funds to help ease the financial strain of out-of-pocket expenses incurred by medically complex children, specifically those with tracheostomies and ventilator dependence.

Caregiver Grants | Childhood Trach Are you the parent of a child with a tracheostomy? Research shows that parents of children with medical complexity endure more financial hardship and job related stress as compared to their peers with typically developing children. Children who rely on tracheostomies and ventilators to breathe are often some of the most medically complex children living in home settings.

These parents have the highest out-of-pocket expenses, yet it is often mandatory that one parent stay home with the child 24/7, meaning that parent cannot bring home an income. The other parent, if there are two, often works a lot to supplement. Home health nursing is not always approved , nor staffed.

If you are a parent reading this, we are not telling you anything you don't know! We know it's not much, but our friends at Churchill Mortgage, as well as our other supporting donors, make it possible for us to provide some supplemental income to provide some support.

Past grant recipients have used the funds for things such as room makeovers, new wheelchairs, travel expenses to/from medical appointments, paying bills and in home therapy are just a few examples.
