Catholic School Grants (Love One Another Trust) is sponsored by Archdiocese of Milwaukee (Love One Another Trust). This opportunity supports mission-aligned projects and measurable outcomes.

Priests, Deacons & Seminarians Supporting Catholic Schools Centers of Prayer and Ministry Pledge Fulfillment Resources The Love One Another Trustees will be issuing Catholic School Grants twice a year from the Love One Another Trust: Fall Grants and Spring Grants.

Any of the 101 Catholic schools within the Archdiocese of Milwaukee that is officially recognized by the Archbishop as a Catholic school is eligible to apply for a Love One Another grant. The Love One Another capital campaign is targeting to raise $12 Million with the goal of strengthening our Catholic schools to provide our children academically excellent, faith-filled education.

Schools will be limited to one grant application per grant cycle for a total of two per year for the following categories: Mission & Catholic Identity, Instructional Resources/Program Improvements, Technology Needs, and Tuition Assistance . Any school that has reached the cap of $100,000 in grant funding will not be eligible in the current cycle.

Examples for the Category Mission & Catholic Identity Faith formation; recruitment, enrollment and marketing initiatives; liturgical needs, environmental enhancements, religious artifacts, resource materials, etc. Instructional Resources / Program Improvements New programs, supplemental resources to advance existing programs, text books, playground equipment, etc. Software needs, hardware needs, website needs, chrome books, tablets, Wi-Fi, etc. Grants for Mission & Catholic Identity, Instructional Resources/Program Improvements, and Technology Needs will be awarded twice a year at the discretion of the trustees and are targeted from $5,000 to $25,000.

Applications will only be accepted during the application period. The application period for the Fall 2026 Grant cycle will open on April 6, and the Catholic School Grant Applications are due on April 22, 2025 . Grant awards will be issued to schools in July of 2026.

Yes, there is a limit of 400 characters in the response boxes- enough for 3-4 sentences. If you need more space to explain your response, you may send a separate word document with your application packet. When will the next cycle open for application?

We will let every school know a few weeks ahead of time when the next cycle is about to open. The regular application periods have been in October for the Spring Cycle, and in April for the Fall Cycle (‘Spring’ and ‘Fall’ denote when the funds will be disbursed). Can I apply for both a Tuition Assistance Grant and a Project Grant for the same cycle?

Only one application per school will be considered each cycle. Please apply for a grant in the category in which your school has the greatest need. Only one Tuition Assistance Grant will be awarded to a school within a fiscal year.

May a school request a grant toward a capital project at the school? No. Grants may not be used toward capital building projects at the school. May a school request a grant for a play structure?

A school may request grant funding toward the purchase and installation of outside play structures for students, but the request should be to complete the project rather than as seed money to initiate the project. May a school request a grant to fund a personnel position? No. Grants will not be given to fund personnel positions that cannot be sustained in the school’s normal budget.

May a school request a grant to fund a literacy coach, or similar, from a third-party vendor, such as a CESA? Yes. A school may request a grant to fund a third-party vendor who will provide direct support to either teachers and/or students in a specific academic area for a specific length of time, usually an academic year.

How much budget detail is required to be submitted regarding the grant request? The budget submitted for the project must clearly identify the entire cost of the proposed project in detail. All expenses related to the project must be identified.

All revenue sources supporting the project, in addition to the grant request, must be identified. The ability of the school to maintain the project beyond the current school year must also be clearly articulated. Be sure to also include the organization’s income and expenses statements for the prior and current fiscal years.

May a school request a grant to fund classroom consumables? No. These should be supported in the school’s annual budget. May a school request a grant to fund field trips?

May a school request a grant to send school personnel to professional development opportunities? No. Schools should support professional development through the annual school budget. Further support may be available via Title II funding.

My school applied for a grant- when will we hear if we will receive an award? Once the grant application period closes, all grants must be reviewed and graded by a committee and passed on to the Love One Another Trust Board of Trustees for final approval. This process can take 8-10 weeks, depending on the number of applications received, and the schedules of the Committee and Board of Trustee meetings.

Notification of grant awards and denials will be sent to all schools via email. Award letters and grant checks will be sent in the mail. May a school request a grant to support target-hardening security equipment, i.e., cameras, doors, locks, fencing, etc.?

Yes. Schools should also consider for applying for the Non-Profit Security Grant available through the Department of Homeland Security via FEMA. This grant opportunity allows an organization to apply for up to $150,000 per address within the organization.

The Board of Trustees for the Love One Another Trust expect to receive documentation for all planned and completed projects, which includes invoices, purchase orders, or a screen shot of a shopping cart during the application period, and receipts documenting expenses for reporting purposes.
