** **​​CDBG/ESG Application Workshop Presentation​​​** Overview: The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), provides federal funds to local governments to support a variety of public service activities. These funds are intended to enhance the quality of life for residents, especially those in low- to moderate-income neighborhoods.

### The CDBG program serves three primary national objectives: * Benefit to Low- and Moderate-Income Persons: The primary goal is to improve the living conditions for low- and moderate-income individuals in the community. * Eliminate Slums and Blight: Funds can be used to address deteriorating infrastructure and properties, ensuring safer and healthier living environments.

* Meet Urgent Needs: In situations where there is a disaster or a pressing need, CDBG funds can assist in addressing critical situations quickly.

The CDBG program can fund a variety of public service activities, including but not limited to: * Youth and senior services * Homelessness prevention services * Domestic violence support services To apply for CDBG public service funds, applicants must meet the following criteria: * Non-Profit Organizations: Must be a non-profit organization that operates within the city limits.

* Alignment with CDBG Objectives: Proposals must align with one or more of the three national objectives of the CDBG program (outlined above). Applications for CDBG public service funds are typically accepted once a year. The application deadline is usually mid-January of each year (more details will be provided during the application period).

Late applications will not be considered. 1. Review the Program Guidelines: Understand the goals and eligible activities funded by the CDBG program.

2. Prepare Your Proposal: Your application should include a detailed project description, a budget breakdown, the intended outcomes, and a timeline. 3.

Submit the Application: Completed applications must be submitted by the deadline. 4. Review and Approval: Submitted applications will be reviewed by the CNCS staff, and selected projects will be notified.

Based on anticipated revenue of $1,149,342, a maximum of 15% may be allocated to public service funding. This results in a total public service funding pool of approximately $172,401. The 15% limit applies to the total funding pool, not to individual organizations.
