Celeste Tybor Scholarship Fund is sponsored by St Luke's Methodist Church. Provides scholarships to single adults, including single mothers.

Students graduating high school or continuing their education at a university, community college, or other educational institution are encouraged to apply for**St. Luke’s Methodist Church Foundation (SLMCF) Scholarships**. Scholarships are available for students in specified disciplines, those attending United Methodist Schools, students preparing for a church vocation, or students in any vocation pursuing a higher education.

**These scholarships are awarded to qualified applicants seeking careers in a Christian vocation. ** **Benjamin Vaughan Scholarship Fund - $2,325** Established by Emory and Margaret Carl in honor of Benjamin Vaughan. It endows scholarships for students who are members of St.

Luke’s and are pursuing careers in the ordained ministry, church administration, religious education, church music, or any other full-time career of service to the church. **Ruth Claridge/James Moore Fund - $1,950** Established to benefit a student pursuing a full-time church vocation who is selected by the senior minister or his designee.

**Hines Baker Class Scholarship - $1,800** Established by the Hines Baker Bible Class to assist students pursuing university studies in Christian ministry. **John T. King Scholarship Fund - $1,650** The Reverend John T.

King served from 1977 to 1986 as Minister of Program and Administration of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. The scholarship benefits students pursuing a degree from Perkins School of Theology.

**These scholarships are awarded to qualified applicants based on SPECIFIC major and/or school attending. ** **Ann & Randy Smith Scholarship Fund - $3,675** Established in honor of Ann and Randy Smith’s long-time leadership and teaching on the class’s 25th anniversary. It benefits students pursuing a degree in special education from an accredited college or university.

**Celeste Tybor Scholarship Fund - $1,200** Established in honor of Celeste Tybor, this scholarship is for single adults to participate in St. Luke’s sponsored or sanctioned programs of divorce and/or grief recovery, single adult spiritual life retreats, programs benefitting disabled single adults, and single adults returning to an institution of higher education in the pursuit of a second career.

**These scholarships are awarded to qualified applicants, regardless of area of study or school attending. ** **The Elizabeth Dodge Schwab Scholarship - $3,380** Established in Elizabeth’s honor by her husband David and mother Ethel Dodge, to benefit a student pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and ensure that deserving individuals receive all the support they can towards achieving their goals.

**United Methodist Women Scholarship Fund - $2,125** The United Methodist Women’s Founders Scholarship Fund was created in May 1985 by the members of the St. Luke’s chapter of UMW. They created this fund to provide financial assistance for further education to members of St.

Luke’s. Special consideration is given to candidates showing financial need, academic excellence, or interest in a church related vocation. **Kenneth & Jane Ford Trust - $1,925** This scholarship fund was established to award scholarships to children of St.

Luke’s members attending college in Texas or to pay tuition for children of single parents to attend St. Luke’s Day School and After School Care programs. In all cases, these children would be unable to attend these programs without scholarship aid.

**Stiver Family Scholarship Fund - $1,000** This fund was established to provide a college scholarship to students who are graduating high school from the Houston area who have been accepted to a four-year college in Texas. These students will have personal engagement at St. Luke’s.

**Grace & Glen Davies Scholarship Fund - $975** Established in memory of Grace and Glen Davies. It is intended to benefit students pursuing degrees from an accredited college or university.

**United Methodist Men Scholarship & The Cutrer Scholarship – Awarded together $1125** * United Methodist Men Scholarship Fund - $825 The United Methodist Men established this scholarship to benefit students attending college or graduate school who need financial assistance.

* Cutrer Scholarship Fund - $300 Established in memory of Lewis Cutrer to help young students who need financial assistance to further their education at an accredited college or university. **Randy E. Gorham Scholarship & Jane Sheffield Scholarship & Women's Bible Class Scholarship – Awarded together $1155** * Randy E.

Gorham Scholarship Fund - $695 Established for qualifying students attending college or graduate school. * Women's Bible Class Scholarship Fund - $260 This scholarship fund was established to perpetuate the name and influence of this class, which was formed while St. Luke’s was still meeting at Lamar High School.

This scholarship is awarded annually to a member, or child of a member, to benefit in the higher education of the individual. * Jane Sheffield Scholarship Fund - $200 Established in memory of Jane Sheffield to assist with higher education for a member, or child of a member. Selection is based on the recommendations of the UMW Scholarship Committee or designee.
