NPS Centennial Challenge Projects - Centennial (U.S. National Park Service) Skip to global NPS navigation Skip to the footer section NPS Centennial Challenge Projects Before and After at Rocky Mountain National Park – Repairs to the Lily Lake trail (NPS photos) Since 2015, the National Park Service has leveraged more than $88 million in funding from Congress through the Centennial Challenge program to attract more than $119 million from partner organizations to support hundreds of projects across the country.
These projects reduce the maintenance backlog, improve visitor services, support outreach to new audiences, and strengthen partnerships to reinvigorate national parks and forge connections to new communities. IDNR's OSLAD program closes at 5:00 p.m. on August 31, 2026, with $37.5 million available, a $1,125,000 ceiling for land acquisition and $600,000 for development. The standard deal is 50/50.
