Certified Local Government Grant | Economic Development & Finance Authority Certified Local Government Grant The Certified Local Government grant program is open to those Iowa cities, counties and land use districts that have signed a Certified Local Government Agreement with the State of Iowa and National Park Service.
The Certified Local Government must be in good standing and current in its submission of Iowa Certified Local Government annual reports. The grant can be used for the following project types: National Register nominations Planning for preservation Planning and predevelopment projects All grant applications must follow the CLG grant guidelines.
The CLG grant guidelines below explain the application process and how to prepare a successful application. Applicants are encouraged to submit a draft application for review and comment by September 1, 2026, at 11:59 p. m.
Final applications are due September 21, 2026, at 11:59 p. m. Apply through the Iowa Arts Council's SlideRoom , an online application portal.
