Please note that the Cecil and David Rosenthal Memorial Fund is only available to residents of the following Pennsylvania counties: Allegheny, Beaver, Blair, Butler, Cameron, Clarion, Clearfield, Elk, Erie, Jefferson, Lawrence, Venango, Washington, and Westmoreland.

The “ Cecil and David Rosenthal Memorial Fund ” (The Fund) was created to support community engagement activities pursued by people with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD). In keeping with the way the public embraced and included Cecil and David in various facets of daily life, the Fund awards grants to help other people with IDD live a life of personal significance.

The money will be awarded to people only and not organizations. The Funds may be used for items, programs and/or supports to assist people with IDD who live in any Pennsylvania county served by Achieva Support services.

Funds may also be awarded for direct support professionals (DSP) if it directly helps people with IDD with person-centered residential support, competitive-integrated employment, and meaningful community participation (e.g., receiving training, rewarding exceptional DSPs, etc.).

Eligibility for other government or private funding or through the Residual Fund of the Achieva Family Trust, must be considered and used before applying to the Cecil and David Rosenthal Memorial Fund. People requesting funds will be required to complete an application form .

This form includes: Name of applicant and contact information If applying on someone’s behalf, such as the parent or guardian of a person with IDD, their name and contact information of the parent or guardian will also be required. Amount needed; amount already secured if it is for partial funding Applicant’s timeline Explanation of how/whether other sources of funding were explored, rejected, or ineligible.

During the application process, a screening tool will determine if you are eligible for the Cecil and David Rosenthal Memorial Fund, and/or Achieva Family Trust's Charitable Residual Program .
