Here is the eligibility math, the integration trap, and how to position in a tightening federal funding climate.
Read articleFederal appropriators added $15 billion in new Pell Grant funding to the FY 2026 appropriations package on top of the standard appropriation level — a response to a structural shortfall that CBO scored at $5.4 billion in FY 2026 and $11.5 billion in FY 2027. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget projects a cumulative gap of $61 billion to $97 billion through 2035 even after the one-time fix.
