Integra Foundation Peripheral Nerve Research Awards - Spine Section Integra Foundation Peripheral Nerve Research Awards Non-Abstract-Based Awards | Awards in Peripheral Nerve Research Checkpoint Surgical Peripheral Nerve Research Award Requires submission of a research proposal and supplemental documents DEADLINE: November 15, 2026; 11:59 PM Pacific AWARD: The award is $10,000. No additional indirect cost support will be provided.
Awardees will be expected to submit a 6 month progress report and a final report at the conclusion of the research. Awardees are expected to present the results of the research at the CNS meeting the year following completion of the research funding. The current awardee will present at CNS 2028.
Presentation at this meeting is a requirement for the award funding. ELIGIBILITY: Faculty, residents, fellows, graduate students, and medical students are all eligible to apply. If not a faculty member, there must be a faculty neurosurgeon sponsor for the proposal.
The primary investigator must have the ability to complete the work at the institution from July 1 to June 30 following the award. The current funding period will run from July 1, 2027 to June 30, 2028. Applicants may also apply concurrently for the Tulavi Therapeutics Peripheral Nerve Research Award.
This award will be given to the most outstanding peripheral nerve research project to promote basic science, translational research, or clinical research related to the peripheral nerves. Preference for this award will be given to clinical research projects. This award will provide a means of peer review to help improve the quality of the proposal and therefore enhance competitiveness for federal funding.
Thus, projects with a plan for future research and funding proposals will receive priority.

Awardees will be expected to submit a 6 month progress report and a final report at the conclusion of the traveling fellowship. Awardees are expected to share the highlights of the traveling fellowship at the CNS meeting.
The current awardee will present at CNS 2028. Presentation at this meeting is a requirement for the award funding. ELIGIBILITY: Clinical neurosurgery faculty and clinical fellows are eligible to apply.
If applying as a fellow, the fellow’s faculty neurosurgeon fellowship director must sponsor the application. The current funding period and eligible travel period will run from July 1, 2027 to June 30, 2028. This award is intended to foster mentorship and collaboration within peripheral nerve surgery.
The award will be given to support travel to hospitals/clinics, meetings, courses, and/or research labs. This travel should foster the acquisition of new clinical skills, research techniques, collaborations, or anything else that benefits the career development of the applicant.
