The Chelsea Piers Foundation provides scholarships to help young athletes and their families access sports programs and life-changing opportunities in New York and Connecticut. To date, we have provided over 11,000+ scholarships totaling $8. 9 million in support to young athletes.
Please review the requirements and deadlines below before applying. Please review the information below for upcoming openings, eligibility requirements, application deadlines. Application Deadlines & Requirements Applicants must submit their scholarship applications via the online portal by the specified deadline.
Late submissions will not be considered.

Please use the two most recent applicable years of tax returns. If applicable, we will review additional materials including proof of SNAP and/or Public Assistance where the applying parent/guardian and child’s names both appear. Parents are required to complete a separate scholarship application form for each child .
This form includes personal information, financial information, and supporting documents or statements, as requested. If you anticipate involvement in a camp, class, or competitive teams, please apply during the above timelines. If you are interested in joining a competitive team, please follow the same timelines, regardless of pending acceptance, try-outs, or participation eligibility.
Applicants must submit their applications electronically via our online portal. Incomplete applications will not be processed. Chelsea Piers Foundation accepts applications on a rolling basis and reserves the right to cap each season’s scholarships based on availability or until spots are filled.
Apply early and on time to ensure consideration. Award Notification Schedule All applicants will be notified of the scholarship committee's decisions on the following dates, or by checking your application account portal.
Successful applicants will receive notification of their award, and unsuccessful applicants will be informed of the decision on the following schedule: Cyclones, Spring League, & Weekend Premiere Hockey Applicants will be notified no later than April 10, 2026 Jr. Cyclones Hockey & Figure Skating Applicants will be notified no later than August 14, 2026 Summer Camps & CT Spring Soccer Applicants will be notified no later than April 24, 2026 Applicants will be notified no later than September 11, 2026 Fall 2026, Winter 2027, Spring 2027 Classes & Competitive Teams Applicants will be notified no later than August 28, 2026 Winter 2026-27 Volleyball, Swim, and Senior Soccer - Stamford, CT Applicants will be notified no later than November 23, 2026 Scholarship recipients must acknowledge the acceptance of their award and follow necessary enrollment steps outlined in the confirmation letter.
Failure to do so may result in the scholarship being awarded to an alternate applicant.
The last eligible day to accept and enroll are as follows: Sky Rink & Field House – Chelsea Fall 2026 Classes & Competitive Teams: September 7, 2026 Winter 2027 Classes & Competitive Teams: December 7, 2026 Spring 2027 Classes & Competitive Teams: March 7, 2026 Summer 2026 Camps: June 15, 2026 Fall 2026 Classes, Swim & Junior Soccer Teams: September 7, 2026 Volleyball, Senior Soccer, & Winter Swim: December 7, 2026 Winter 2027 Classes & Spring Swim: March 7, 2025 Summer 2026 Camps: June 15, 2026 Competitive Gymnastics: July 6, 2026 Chelsea Piers cannot hold spots in classes without payment.
NO registrations will be taken without valid payment. If you cancel your child’s class, your portion of the scholarship payment will not be refunded or credited for any future class. Scholarship recipients will be required to complete a post program survey, and future funds may be contingent on completing the requested information.
Scholarships are reserved for students aged 5-16 (5-18 for competitive teams), based on their age at the last eligible day to enroll. Class scholarships are available one (1) per child per quarter or trimester, depending on location. Chelsea Piers Foundation accepts applications on a rolling basis and reserves the right to cap each season’s scholarships based on availability or until spots are filled.
Apply early and on time to ensure consideration. Scholarships cannot be applied to individual or group private lessons. Chelsea Piers Foundation reserves the right to cap the number of scholarships on each competitive team, as necessary.
Transportation & After-Care Scholarships do NOT include transportation or after-care. Program Eligibility — Brooklyn Chelsea Piers Field House Brooklyn scholarships are available for Gymnastics/Ninja, Field, and Court classes only . Camp Scholarships Duration All camps, including Hockey, Skating, Gymnastics, Ninja, Soccer and Camp Chelsea, are limited to one week.

Behavior & Attendance Standards Scholarship offers may be rescinded at any time if students or families fail to meet the behavioral standards set by the Chelsea Piers staff, display poor attendance, or failure to make payment on time.

The SCI Youth Grant Pitch Contest is a competitive program from Social Capital Inc. that funds youth-led community improvement projects in Greater Boston. Teams of high school students in grades 9 through 12 residing in Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, or Suffolk counties develop project ideas through coaching from local professionals, then pitch their proposals to a live panel of judges. The System Innovations Grant (Youth Opportunities Fund) is a multi-year funding opportunity from the Ontario Trillium Foundation that supports collaborative projects working to understand and strengthen systems so they function better for young people. Grants of up to $1,250,000 over five years fund collaboratives of two or more Ontario-based nonprofits aiming to create lasting systemic change that expands opportunities for youth ages 12 to 29, with a particular emphasis on Indigenous, Black, and other racialized youth facing systemic barriers. Eligible applicants are not-for-profit organizations incorporated for at least five years in Ontario with a mandate to serve youth, forming a formal collaborative. Indigenous- and Black-led organizations and collaboratives are prioritized. Applications were due March 11, 2026—check the Ontario Trillium Foundation website for upcoming intake cycles.
Improving Veteran Mental Health Grant Program is a grant from The Cigna Group Foundation that funds nonprofits providing housing stability and wraparound support services to improve the mental health of military veterans. The Foundation committed $9 million over three years addressing housing instability and its mental health impacts, as an estimated 40,000 veterans go without shelter nightly and 1.5 million are at risk of homelessness. Funded programs include mortgage and rental assistance, employment re-entry training, and housing development for veterans. Eligible nonprofits must leverage evidence-informed programs and align with at least one goal: increasing permanent housing, improving housing affordability, or enhancing wraparound services for veterans transitioning from shelters.
