2026-2027 Child Health Funding Proposal Request for Applications The Child Health Program seeks applications from community-based organizations for programs and services that align with the following Title V National Performance Measure (NPM): increasing the percentage of children, ages 0 through 11, whose households are always able to afford to eat good, nutritious food This funding opportunity will be expanded to households with children aged 0 through 18.
The purpose of this funding is to support community-led initiatives that increase food sufficiency among Wyoming families with children ages 0 through 18. Projects funded under this opportunity should align with the NPM for food sufficiency and contribute to improving access to nutritious foods, reducing barriers to food access, and promoting sustainable communities. Applications will close on April 30, at 6:00 PM Mountain Time.
Once applications are reviewed and scored, selected applicants will be asked to present on their program or initiative the week of May 18, 2026 . Applicants will be notified by email if they have been awarded funding in June of 2026 . Projects are expected to begin on October 1, 2026, and end on September 30, 2027.

meredith@wyo. gov. Step 1: All applications will be reviewed by Wyoming MCH Unit staff. Applications will be evaluated on the following criteria and relative weights: After review, some applicants will be asked to move on to Step 2.
The application describes a feasible program that is (1) sustainable, (2) has identified who does what, (3) has a timeline of implementation, and (4) is grounded in evidence. This is based on answers to Questions 1 and 2. The budget breakdown for the proposed program or initiative is reasonable and adequately describes the budget items.
This is based on the budget outlined under Question 3. The application describes the need in the community and explains how it connects to the child food sufficiency NPM. This is based on the answer to Question 4.
The application clearly connects the need to the child population, demonstrates the program’s benefits, and explains how the program will engage families with children. This is based on the answer to Question 5. The application clearly describes fair health access considerations and addresses barriers families face in accessing nutritious food.
This is based on the answer to Question 6. The application clearly aligns with the child food sufficiency NPM. Step 2: Applications scoring 65 or higher in the initial review will be invited to present their program or initiative in a 15-minute presentation, followed by a 15-minute question-and-answer period, the week of May 18, 2026 .
A PowerPoint template will be provided. Notification of Funding: Applicants will be notified by email if they have been awarded funding in June of 2026. Selected applicants will be required to enter into a subrecipient agreement/contract with the Wyoming Department of Health.
