Apply for the Child Passenger Safety Education & Assistance Program - Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association Apply for the Child Passenger Safety Education & Assistance Program Education & Assistance Program Child Passenger Safety Education & Assistance Program Deadline: August 31 or when funds are depleted, whichever comes first The Office of Grants and Research (OGR) is committed to improving the safety of all road users, including child passengers who are especially vulnerable in the event of a crash.
We’re providing car seats and booster seats to eligible Massachusetts state and local agencies, nonprofits serving children or families and not-for-profit hospitals, which can be distributed to families in need. To be eligible for the Child Passenger Safety Education and Assistance Program , an organization must have a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician on staff who is currently providing in-person car seat checks.
Agencies may request up to a maximum of $10,000 worth of car seats or as few seats as the agency wishes. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until August 31 or funds are depleted, whichever comes first. Please note that OGR does not provide car seats directly to members of the public.

Become a Child Passenger Safety Technician Upcoming Training Opportunities According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), up to 46% of car seats are installed incorrectly, putting children at risk in the event of a crash. CPS Technicians are trained to install all types of car seats.
Through our contract with Statewide Training Provider, BayState Health, OGR funds CPS Technician training courses and reimburses certification fees. The next available training will take place July 29-31 in Westborough. Learn more and find upcoming CPS Technician trainings.
