Child Sexual Abuse and Human Trafficking (CSA/HT) Alternative Provider Choice Grant is sponsored by Utah State Board of Education (USBE). This grant provides funds to support LEAs that choose to use an approved organization other than the state contracted provider (Prevent Child Abuse Utah) to deliver CSA/HT prevention instruction to elementary students.

This grant is intended only to support CSA/HT prevention training for elementary students . Trainings for parents/guardians and adults serving youth are not eligible for these State Contracted Prevention Provider Please note that Prevent Child Abuse Utah (PCAU) has been contracted by USBE to deliver prevention education to elementary students throughout Utah.

The USBE contract with PCAU allows them to provide prevention education at no cost to schools. Schools interested in working with PCAU should contact PCAU directly for scheduling and details. Funding from this Child Sexual Abuse & Human Trafficking Prevention Education Funding K-6 Grant cannot be used for PCAU.

This grant opportunity is available if an LEA would like to utilize an approved provider (Alternative Provider as defined in Utah Code Section 53G-9-207) other than PCAU. How LEAs Can Use This Funding LEAs have flexibility in how they use these funds to meet requirements and expand access to prevention education.

Funding may be used to: Cover implementation costs , including printing materials, travel for staff providing instruction, and online Provide stipends for educators who are certified to train approved material and then complete training or deliver approved lessons. Funding cannot be used for food, assemblies, computer equipment, or new FTE positions.

This funding is also not intended to cover costs associated with school staff or parent Grant Timeline and Requirements Applications due: March 1 of the year funds are needed Funds available: $1,000,000 statewide (awarded until funds are exhausted, $500,000 funding renewed Final spending deadline: July 15 of the year funds are used Reporting due: October 1 (following year), including: Dates that instruction was delivered Number of sessions provided and students reached Dates instruction occurred Determine if your LEA will use the statewide provider (PCAU) or another approved provider.

If your LEA wants to use another approved provider, review the USBE Approved Instructional Materials list . Contact the providers to determine cost and the delivery methods of the training. Determine which provider and model will best meet the needs of your LEA.
