The Black Youth Action Plan Economic Empowerment Program aims to strengthen economic outcomes for Black youth, communities and businesses. The program includes 3 new funding streams: Helps Black youth (ages 17–29) enter, navigate and succeed in Ontario’s labour market.

EDT . The Child Victims of Gun and Gang Violence Grant program provides funding to eligible community-based agencies. It supports initiatives that improve services for child victims, witnesses and survivors of gun and gang violence, including human trafficking, and their families.

You can apply for projects to be delivered between March 1, 2027 and March 31, 2028 . Maximum funding is $200,000 per project . All funding must be spent by March 31, 2028 .

You need to collaborate with justice sector and community partners to provide coordinated supports for victims under the age of 18. The approach minimizes trauma and promotes the well-being of children, youth, and their families during the investigative process, any court proceedings and beyond.

The Community Safety and Policing ( CSP ) Grant provides eligible police services and municipalities policed by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with greater flexibility to implement initiatives that address policing needs and priority risks related to safety and well-being.

m. Eastern Standard Time ( EST ). The Ministry of Transportation’s Connecting Links Program provides dedicated provincial funding for road and bridge projects on designated connecting link highways.

Connecting links are municipal roads that connect two ends of a provincial highway through a community or to an international or interprovincial border crossing. These are critical roadways that serve provincial and municipal interests, as they carry long-distance provincial highway traffic moving through communities, as well as local traffic within the community.

The Connecting Links Program provides funding for eligible capital improvement costs – NOT maintenance. The responsibility for maintenance of connecting links lies with the municipality. Note: Only municipalities with connecting links are eligible for this grant.

There are 352 kilometres of Connecting Links, with 70 bridges in 77 Ontario municipalities. All 77 Ontario municipalities with designated Connecting Links are eligible for funding, a municipality with one designated Connecting Link can submit one project per year, a municipality that has more than one designated Connecting Link may submit a maximum of two projects per year.

The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) will provide funding for up to 90 percent of total eligible project costs. The maximum amount of funding for eligible costs is $5 million per road project and $7 million per bridge project. This program is designed to provide municipalities with reimbursement opportunities related to the provision of emergency services in unincorporated areas of Ontario that occurred between March 16, 2026 to March 14, 2027. EST . The legislative authority for municipalities to use Automated Speed Enforcement ( ASE ) systems in Ontario has been repealed. As of November 14, 2025, municipalities are no longer allowed to issue any Provincial Offences Act ( POA ) tickets or administrative penalty orders for speeding infractions captured by ASE cameras.

To support continued road safety, the Ministry of Transportation ( MTO ) created the Road Safety Initiatives Fund ( RSIF ). The fund provides financial support for eligible municipalities as they transition from ASE to other safety measures in School Zones ( SZs ) and Community Safety Zones ( CSZs ).

The RSIF supports initiatives in the following key areas: traffic calming and control measures, including infrastructure-based safety improvements that create safer and more predictable driving conditions signage enhancements, including regulatory, warning and informational signage that promotes slower, safer driving behaviour targeted roadside enforcement and operational safety measures that reinforce speed compliance and enhance pedestrian and local safety To be eligible for funding under the RSIF, a municipality must have: entered into a signed ASE agreement with the Ministry of Transportation ( MTO ) before ASE was repealed on November 14, 2025 installed, deployed or held a contract or arrangement for ASE systems at any time between December 1, 2019 and November 13, 2025 The program guidelines are available by logging in to the Transfer Payment Ontario ( TPON ) system.
