025, Plant and Animal Disease, Pest Control and Animal Care APHIS is awarding around $500,000 through cooperative agreements to help Tribal governments control and prevent chronic wasting disease (CWD) in wild cervids on Tribal lands. Funded projects may involve developing or carrying out CWD surveillance, testing, management, and response activities for wild cervids on Tribal lands.
This may also include further developing and evaluating techniques or strategies to prevent or control CWD in these populations.
We encourage eligible applicants to develop project proposals that support at least one of the following priorities: * Improve the management of CWD-affected wild cervid populations * Improve the management of wild cervid CWD-affected areas * Conduct research on amplification assays in wild cervids or other new test methods in wild cervids * Development and/or application of predictive genetics for wild cervids * Develop and/or deliver educational outreach materials or programs to wild cervid stakeholders or Tribal entities Download Funding Opportunity Announcement Read thefunding opportunity announcementfor details on this opportunity and the application process.
