AI in the Humanities and Social Sciences CHSS Curriculum Enhancement Mini-Grant AI in the Humanities and Social Sciences CHSS is committed to providing students with a suite of AI opportunities for learning and engaging with AI topics across an interdisciplinary curriculum.
The College is therefore launching a coordinated effort to generate sustainable curriculum across disciplines and interdisciplinary fields in the social sciences and humanities by offering mini-grants for full-time faculty to enhance currently existing courses and create new courses that address, interrogate, crucially position, evaluate, and use AI to prepare students at the undergraduate and graduate level with 21st century knowledge and skills.
We are seeking proposals for course development and enhancement in areas including, but far from limited to, the following (in all disciplines and interdisciplinary fields) in the humanities and social sciences: Incorporation Into research and methods courses across fields, disciplines Interdisciplinarity of/Interdisciplinary approaches to AI Data: multiple aspects, disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches Information: multiple aspects, disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches Eligibility : All CHSS full-time faculty Deadlines : Response to interest survey and receive the "go ahead" before proceeding with your course development.
1. Complete Interest/Intent Survey. Submit interest survey now through September 30, 2026 for Fall cycle CHSS AI course development or enhancement Note: Please wait for the "go-ahead" before developing new courses.
2. New courses due to college-level curriculum committee by December 1, 2026 (meaning they have passed program and department level committees) 3. Course enhancements due by February 1, 2027.
