City/County Grant

City/County Grant is sponsored by United Way of Henderson County. The City of Henderson Government and Henderson County Government have combined their grant cycles into a single, unified online funding application to support programs serving residents.

City/County Grant | United Way of Henderson County All applicants are required to have or create an account to complete and submit your application. Keep your user name and password handy so that you can "save a draft" and return to complete your submission. Also this user name and password will continue to be used for agency reporting and future applications.

City/County Grant Overview The City of Henderson Government and Henderson County Government have combined their grant cycles into a single, unified online funding application . Important Note: This application is not intended for event funding .

A separate application process is available for events. Organizations may request up to $15,000 from the City and/or $15,000 from the County , for a maximum combined request of $30,000 . If your organization is requesting City and County funds for two different programs or projects , you must complete two separate applications .

In this case, the maximum allowable request remains $15,000 per entity , not $30,000 per project. Applications will be evaluated based on the following: Applicant must be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Programs must serve City of Henderson and/or Henderson County residents.

Religious programming (such as religious outreach or studies) is not eligible for funding. This application is not intended for capital campaigns or capital purchases . For those inquiries, please contact representatives from the City or County directly.

Eligible Programs May Include (but are not limited to): Food assistance and meal programs for individuals and families in need Housing and homelessness services , including shelters, utility/rent support, and transitional housing Support services for survivors of domestic violence, abuse, or trauma Youth programming , including after-school care, summer enrichment, and early childhood education Health and wellness initiatives , such as mental health services, therapeutic supports, and water safety education Economic mobility programs , including financial literacy, job training, and transportation access While the United Way of Henderson County is not administering these funds , they are partnering with the City and County to help enhance and streamline the grant process.

Applications will be reviewed by the Allocations Review Team , made up of 12 community members appointed by the City and County, and chaired by Jack Brewer . Interviews or site visits may be requested during the review process. Award notifications will be sent by the City and County.

Organizations receiving City funds may appeal their award at a public session with City Commissioners (date TBD). For County awards , applicants may request a meeting with designated County representatives to discuss concerns. Organizations that receive funding must submit a 6-month report online.

The report will include: Number and demographics of individuals served (race, gender, economic status, and residency) Volunteer data , including the number of volunteers and total volunteer hours A financial summary detailing receipt and use of City/County funds A sustainability update on continued financial support for the program Relevant promotional materials showcasing the funded program or services Failure to submit a complete report by the deadline will disqualify your organization from receiving future funding.
