Clark County Microbusiness Grant Program (Northeast Las Vegas) is sponsored by Clark County. This $500,000 grant program supports microbusinesses in northeast Las Vegas recovering from the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. It offers non-repayable funding for qualifying businesses.

$10,000 grants available to qualifying micro-business owners in northeast Las Vegas Add Us On Google Add as a preferred source on Google LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — Clark County Commissioner William McCurdy launched a $500,000 grant program to help micro businesses in his district recover and grow. The new grant offers up to $10,000 for small businesses in the northeast part of the Las Vegas Valley – money that doesn’t need to be paid back.

“Small businesses are so important to the overall economy, and so even after COVID, we know that some small businesses still struggle,” said Shani Colman, director community ad economic development for the Clark County Office of Community and Economic Development. Leticia Mitchell owns Letty’s Café in the Arts District. She said when she first heard about the grant, she didn’t waste any time applying.

“I was ready to hit send right when it opened at 10 a. m. We need it, we definitely need it to help ourselves get back up there,” Mitchell said.

Mitchell said running a restaurant during this time hasn’t been easy. Like many small businesses she has faced labor shortages inflation and unpredictable foot traffic. She said this kind of targeted funding can help make or break survival.

“And I don’t say it freely, by God’s grace, we’ve been able to sustain, but it’s been very difficult, very difficult,” Mitchell said. And she’s not alone – with Broadacres Marketplace still closed, many vendors in the area are also eligible for some of the same funding as long as they meet the criteria.

“If they have a business license, and they’ve paid taxes, they should try to get some of these dollars, these dollars are for that,” said President of the Latin Chamber of Commerce, Peter Guzman. To check if your business qualifies and lies within District D, the Latin Chamber added they are happy to help and chat with anyone interested.

To qualify, businesses have to be located within Clark County’s Commission District, must have 20 or fewer full-time employees and have been operating for at least 6 months this year. The grant is first come, first serve basis and applications are open now through the Latin and Urban Chambers of Commerce.
