The selected applications will fund state, local, and Tribal entities located in 30 states. The grants will be funded through the Climate Pollution Reduction Grants program, which was created under the Inflation Reduction Act.

3 billion in funding to implement ambitious local and regional climate pollution reduction measures to significantly reduce greenhouse gases (GHGs) by 2030 and beyond. The selected applications will result in significant benefits including climate benefits, air quality improvements, lower energy bills, cleaner water, and greater access to green space and public transportation.
CPRG implementation grants will fund programs that create high-quality jobs across the U.S. including in rural areas and low-income communities. These implementation grants complement the $250 million in CPRG planning grants awarded in 2023 to 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, 82 metropolitan statistical areas, four territories, and more than 200 Tribes.

Learn More About Selected Applications Anticipated Investments by Sector The proposed projects in the selected applications target greenhouse gas pollution from six sectors: Transportation, Electric Power, Buildings, Industry, Agriculture and Natural and Working Lands, and Waste and Materials Management. CPRG funding will provide significant investment in each of these sectors.
